Burlington Piano Slam! 2017 Begins Saturday, Feb 18 at 7:30pm


The Burlington Piano Slam! 2017 is a six-concert jazz piano series featuring internationally acclaimed pianists.  The series is produced in partnership with the Peabody award-winning Luce Group under the direction of James and Genevieve Luce.

Feb 18 at 7:30pm in our theater:  Latin Grammy winner, Edsel Gomez, kicks off the Burlington Piano Slam! Opening for Edsel is Iris Blanco, a cum laude graduate of Temple University who recently played for the Reading Choral Society. http://edsel.brownpapertickets.com

DUE TO ILLNESS THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELED. March 18th at 7:30pm in our theater:  Francesca Tanksley, internationally-acclaimed jazz pianist and composer. Francesca has been a featured artist on Marian McPartland’s widely acclaimed NPR series, Piano Jazz. Opening for Ms. Tanksley, is Luis Perdomo.  Mr. Perdomo has worked with Ravi Coltrane and Ray Barretto and has six critically-acclaimed recordings as a leader. http://francesca.brownpapertickets.com

April 8 at 7:30pm in our theater:  Tadataka Unno with Clifton Anderson. One of Japan’s most gifted jazz musicians, Tadataka Unno was mentored by the great Hank Jones and has played in numerous famous jazz clubs including Village Vanguard, Dizzy’s, and Blue Note and has performed with Jimmy Cobb, Wallace Roney and Clifton Anderson, to name but a few. Clifton Anderson, member of the original “World of Trombones”.  Mr. Anderson has played with Stevie Wonder, Dizzy Gillespie and his uncle, Sonny Rollins. http://tadadaka.brownpapertickets.com

April 22 at 7:30pm in our theatre: Aruan Ortiz, avatar of creative and progressive improvisation, Cuban-born, Brooklyn-based pianist. In 2013 Aruan produced and curated several series of concerts. His new critically acclaimed CD has been called a solid and unique new sound in today’s jazz world. http://aruan.brownpapertickets.com

May 6 at 7:30pm in our theater: Frank Kimbrough, jazz pianist, composer. Recognized by his inclusion in the Downbeat Critic’s Poll each year since 2001, Mr. Kimbrough’s recordings are often listed in jazz critic’s year’s end top-ten lists. His 2007 solo concert at New York’s Rubin Museum of Art was named among the best performances of the year by All About Jazz New York. http://fkpiano.brownpapertickets.com
